Dr. N. Shalene French began her teaching career after working as a substitute teacher and realizing the positive impact teachers can have on a children.
Dr. French grew up in Eastern Idaho and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She then attended Utah State University where she earned
a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. After working in retail management for several years, Dr. French returned to school and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Idaho State University in Elementary Education.
She began her education career as a teacher at Rocky Mountain Middle School in the Bonneville School District. During this time, she was encouraged to become a principal and she returned to Idaho State University to earn her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She then served as the principal of Rocky Mountain Middle School for seven years. Dr. French felt there was more to learn in order to be an effective school leader. She enrolled at Northwest Nazarene University to earn her Educational Specialist degree and then continue her studies to earn her doctorate degree. She then worked as the Director of Human Resources for the Bonneville School District for four years.
Recently, Dr. French made the decision to pursue the superintendency in the Caldwell, Idaho School District. Her belief that teachers can have a positive impact on children has not wavered. Empowering the professionals who serve our children is a priority for Dr. French. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve in Caldwell and to serve the children of Idaho.
